Mackinac County Equalization Department is accepting applications for an Equalization Clerk. Resumes will be accepted until Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at noon. It is required to obtain the MCAT Certification (Michigan Certified Assessing Technician) with the State Tax Commission within one year. A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Preference will be given to applicants with Apex Sketch and GIS experience. Effective communication skills, ability to work in office, complete property inspections, and manage multiple tasks efficiently are necessary. The County of Mackinac is accepting applications for a full time Deputy Director/Senior Appraiser. This is a Union position. Salary will commensurate with certification, skill level and experience.  A comprehensive fringe benefit package is included.

Minimum Qualifications:  Working knowledge of general property tax laws of the State of Michigan and State Tax Commission manuals and procedures.  Experience and fluency in BS&A software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Apex sketching software. Candidate must possess the MAAO certification and a Michigan Driver’s License.  The candidate must have the experience and skills to supervise appraisal studies and appraise properties in all property classes.  The position requires five years or more of appraisal experience.
